“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
These words were handed to the Hebrew captives 2600 years ago as they were rounded up and taken captive to Babylon. It was a time of incredible darkness for the Jews; they had repeatedly disobeyed the Lord their God and the time for justice and righteous correction had come. The temple had been destroyed, their homeland conquered and their people were now carried off into captivity to a foreign land. It was a time of incredible despair.
Yet God gave the message to this disobedient people so they would not give into the spirit of hopelessness. He was in control, and He had a plan for His people. They were to continue with life in their captivity; they were to have children, they were to plant vineyards….they were to continue on. The punishment would come to an end at the designated time, and He would still be their God, and His love for them would never change.
Do you believe that God has a plan for your life? Can you see the bright future He has for you, in spite of the current darkness you may be experiencing? “Come to Me, all you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Jesus’s words are not just for our future home in Heaven, but for our lives right now. The burdens and plight of this world are lifted when we come to Him, and place upon His shoulders that which keeps us down.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” That verse certainly sounds like He has a very, very good plan for your life.
Trust in Him and trust in His love for you. He will never fail.
Praise the Lord for awesome answers to prayer!
Tonight (4.29), beginning at 5:30 (earlier than advertised) begins an incredible whirlwind adventure called Secret Church. David Platt, President of the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board, is commencing a 6 hour telecast of an INCREDIBLE amount of fantastic content which will blow your mind, and impact your life in ways you cannot begin to imagine. My guess is, a small group will form after this event, and we will spend weeks reviewing, dissecting and investigating the information presented. If at all possible, don’t miss this event.
This Sunday we will be blessed with a message from Luke Haidle, pastor of our sister church from Henderson, Nebraska.
Congratulations to Tanya Murray on her completion of CLI training, graduation and commissioning ceremony. She would like to immediately begin putting her training into practice and deep desire to serve by volunteering with anyone who would like to come in for prayer. On Wednesdays, from 5-10, she will be at Christ Community and available to pray with and for anyone.
