CCC Communiquè Challenge

Sermon-On-The-Mount-catechesis[1].jpeg

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
-Matthew 28:19-20

It’s so easy.  It’s so very, very easy to ignore these two verses Jesus commanded his followers to do.  We find it quite convenient to go about our day, carefully adhering to the plans we have made, and to not be bothered by something so disruptive as these two sentences, which are June’s memory verses for CCC.

After all, perhaps nothing in this life is actually more difficult than following these two verses.  Obedience would involve:

  • Gathering up the courage to speak to others about their need for salvation
  • Spending a great deal of time with the individuals in discipleship, guiding them in the Way of Truth
  • Being there for them, somewhat like a parent is for a child

I admit, it would be far easier for us to pretend like The Great Commission was not even in the Bible.  But I have a few questions for you, and I would really like you to seriously ponder them this week:  What if these verses from Jesus were not even given to us? Would your life be any different than it is today?  When is the last time you actually obeyed this specific command from your Lord?

Please let His Spirit speak to you today.

Prayer Corner:

Please keep praying for the Murrays.  After Tayna delivered a beautiful little baby boy, she fell and broke her foot in several places, and now is completely off her foot for some time.  This situation makes caring for a newborn extremely difficult.

And while we praise the Lord for the Sangers new home, there is still this concern, from Christine:

  • I had a spinal tap done this morning because of the increasing pressure in my head since having the surgery. I had this same procedure done in January before the surgery and at that time my spinal pressure measured at 21 (which is just barely above the normal range). Today it measured at 34! The doctor removed 3 vials of fluid from my spine and after that the pressure was 17. I am most likely looking at having another procedure done to place a shunt to drain the fluid.

Our prayer focus for June is evangelism.  Pray not only for yourself, but also for all of the family at CCC for courage, wisdom, and strength to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
